Regional Pacific NDC Dialogue & NDC Hub - March 12-14, 2018
The 3rd Pacific Regional NDC Dialogue and consultations on the Regional Pacific NDC Hub will provide an opportunity for Pacific Island countries to share experiences and needs on the implementation of their NDCs.
Countries, partners, regional organisations, private sector and civil society organisations will also provide input to the establishment of the Regional Pacific NDC Hub – a regional arm of the NDC Partnership.

UNDP, together with the Governments of Germany and Spain, and the European Commission, will be launching the NDC Support Programme, a new initiative to advance implementation of the Paris Agreement in the context of Agenda 2030. As a contribution to the NDC Partnership, the NDC Support Programme will strengthen countries’ capacities in integrated governance, gender mainstreaming, climate actions, transparency systems, climate finance and private sector engagement.
The Regional NDC Dialogue for Africa is next, convening a 3-day event hosted by the Government of Morocco in Rabat from September 26-28. The dialogue will help countries exchange experiences about approaches for NDC implementation planning in countries across Africa.
Once the NDCs have been presented, countries face the challenge of bringing them to fruition by coordinating efforts with the public and private sectors. The overarching question is thus: How can we translate NDC goals into concrete projects, programs and policies? One of the region's major emissions sectors, the energy sector, is currently experimenting with new opportunities to pave the way for implementation.
On August 29, a group of countries that have completed the Climate Public Expenditures and Institutional Review (CPEIR) processes in Latin America will meet on the margins of the Latin American NDC Dialogues to analyze how the CPEIR tool may contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the NDCs; help establish the required institutional framework and more even more importantly, determine how the national budget will support NDC implementation plans.
The global NDC Conference in Berlin for 2017 was jointly organized by the GIZ Support Project for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement (SPA), the UNDP Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) Programme (on behalf of the “IKI NDC Support Cluster”), and the Low Emission Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS GP) in collaboration with the NDC Partnership.
