Webinar with Albania to share knowledge and identify strategies for holistic support to victims of gender-based violence

In the framework of the Development Solutions Partnership (DSP) with Albania on Gender-based Violence (GBV), a web-based seminar (“webinar”) was held on 28 March 2018, joining UNDP Seoul Policy Center (USPC), UNDP Albania, and stakeholders in Korea and Albania. Following a prior webinar held on 15 November 2017, participants from the two countries once again shared their knowledge to identify effective strategies to provide comprehensive and integrated services to GBV victims and prevent secondary victimization.

Korea’s ‘Clean Construction System’ for enhancing transparency in the public construction sector shared with the Philippines

On 27 March 2018, a high-level webinar was held with UNDP Seoul Policy Center (USPC), Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG), as well as representatives from UNDP Philippines, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Budget and Management of the Republic of the Philippines, and Google. The webinar provided an opportunity to share SMG’s experiences and lessons learnt on operating Korea’s Clean Construction System (CCS) and discuss further implementation of the system in the Philippines. Mr. Hakjin Kim, Assistant Mayor of Seoul, stated that he “sincerely hopes that today’s webinar could contribute to enhancing transparency and accountability in the Philippines’ public construction sector by sharing SMG’s experience and know-how on CCS.”

UNDP Kosovo and UNDP Seoul Policy Centre launch joint project to fight corruption

UNDP Kosovo and the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) launched today the pilot project “Establishing a Corruption Proofing of Legislation System in Kosovo” by which the two offices will work together with anti-corruption officials to set up the legal and institutional framework to review legislation and eliminate risks for corruption.

USPC shares knowledge on Korea’s Anti-Corruption Tools with UNDP Iraq

On 6 March 2018, the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) hosted a webinar on “Sharing Korea’s Innovative Anti-Corruption Policy Tools” with UNDP Iraq and UNDP Lebanon. The webinar was a useful venue to share Korea’s anti-corruption experience in an interactive manner, and to identify policy tools that can be benchmarked and adapted to the context in Iraq. The webinar also laid ground for future collaborations between UNDP Iraq and USPC.

Web-based seminar with Senegal on “Strengthening Access to Justice for victims of GBV by working with the Police”

On 5 March 2018, a web-based seminar was organized, joining Seoul and Dakar, in the framework of USPC’s Development Solutions Partnership (DSP) on Gender-based Violence (GBV). The DSP on GBV which was launched in the fall of 2017 in four partner countries, namely Albania, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Senegal, accentuates the power of sharing of knowledge and lessons learned between governments to effectively tackle GBV and take the national initiatives to scale.

UNDP Facilitates Bilateral Exchange on Assessing Corruption Risk between Myanmar and Korea’s Anti-Corruption Commissions

A web-based seminar on “Institutionalizing ACRC-ACC Bilateral Cooperation and Sharing Korea’s Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA)” was jointly organized by the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC), Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of the Republic of Korea, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and UNDP Myanmar Country Office on 28 February, 2018. The web-based seminar provided an opportunity for policy makers and anti-corruption experts of Korea and Myanmar to share introductory information on the Korean CRA model and the mandates and responsibilities of ACRC, and to discuss future cooperation plans to develop CRA in Myanmar.

Delegation from Vietnam Learns about Korean Anti-Corruption Tools

Government policymakers from Vietnam participated in a technical workshop in Sejong City co-hosted by the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) and the Anti-corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of the Republic of Korea on 23-27 October, 2017, to deepen their understanding of Korea’s anti-corruption experience and to refine their application of ACRC’s Anti-Corruption Initiative Assessment (AIA) tool. Integrity of public institutions as an accelerator for attaining the SDGs discussed at HLPF 2017

New York, July 10 – Government officials, UN practitioners and heads and members of prominent international NGOs such as Transparency International took part in a dialogue today in New York on practical and innovative measures to nurture integrity in public institutions to accelerate the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a side event of this year’s High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) focusing on the theme of eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world. Korea’s Anti-Corruption Assessment Piloted in 63 Provinces of Vietnam

On 17 January, the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre took part in a high level signing ceremony of the CAFI Joint Declaration held in Daejon, whereby the Republic of Korea became the 7th donor to join the Central African Forest Initiative.
