2nd Seoul Civil Society Forum tackles implementation of the Busan Partnership

The 2nd Seoul Civil Society Forum on the post-Busan global development agenda was organized on 2-3 February 2012 by the Korea Council for Overseas Cooperation (KCOC), Korea Civil Society Forum on International Development Cooperation (KoFID) and KOICA. The Forum was held at the KOICA Head Office.

Day one was allocated to consultations, taking stock of the Busan Outcome Document and the implementation of the Busan Partnership, discussing the issue of aid fragmentation and effective and transparent cooperation in development.

Participants from Korean and International civil society organisations, the Korean Government, UNDP Seoul Policy Centre and others shared insights on the upcoming implementation challenges of the Busan Outcome Document.

Mr. Artemy Izmestiev, UNDP Seoul Policy Centre Policy Specialist, discussed the implementation of the Busan Global Partnership and analyzed the challenges of reducing fragmentation and enhancing transparency and coordination in the new development aid environment. He also touched upon how all development actors can work together and learn from each other in implementing the Busan Partnership.
